Kundapur, Mar 7: Acting head teacher of government Urdu higher primary school in Janata Colony, Byndoor, Mamata Kumari, has filed a complaint in the police station here, alleging that president of school development monitoring committee (SDMC), Lakshmi, and a member, Mohanchandra, had abused and assaulted her. On the basis of the complaint, Mohanchandra was arrested on Tuesday March 6.
As per Mamata Kumari's complaint, she was taking class on March 5 when both Lakshmi and Mohanchandra came to her class at around 2.30 pm, stopped her from continuing with her teaching, and asked her to come to the staff room. When Mamata went there along with some of her colleagues, she was asked to sign a sheet of paper. Upon her refusal to do so, she said all the teachers were confined in the staff room and locked till 7.30 pm. Out of dismay and shock at this development, Lakshmi collapsed to the ground and was admitted into the government hospital at Byndoor, she explained.
Mamata, who has been teaching in this school since the last three years, has been functioning as acting head teacher of the school since the last four months. A case stands registered in Byndoor police station on the basis of complaint that she was abused and physically assaulted. Investigation is continuing.
