Puttur, Mar 5: "Siddaramaiah-led state government, which is nurturing Jihadi forces, needs to be taught a lesson. Unless we wake up and act now, the situation here might soon resemble the one facd by Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir. The coast might just go out of our hands," warned Mysuru MP, Pratap Simha.
He was speaking after inaugurating a meeting organized at the end of Padayatra taken from Darbe to Bolwar here on Sunday March 4 under the aegis of BJP to condemn murder of Hindu activists.
He said that coastal Karnataka has been the hub of education and there is a need to retain this identity. He felt that unless Hindus march forward unitedly, the coast might go Kashmir way. He recollected that in a book written by Dr B R Ambedkar, he had commented that Pakistan harbours Islamic brotherhood. Saying that Ambedkar happens to be one of the most intelligent people India has ever witnessed, he felt that he should have been given the status that was conferred on Mahatma Gandhi.
Pratap Simha accused involvement of organizations like Karnataka Forum for Dignity, Popular Front of India and Social Democratic Party of India with the murder of two students at Hunsur and several other murders at Mangaluru, Hubballi, Mysuru, Kyathamaranahalli etc. "It has been several years since these organizations set their bases in coastal Karnataka. They are spreading everywhere in the state now. The state is helping them to get established here. We should give a fitting reply to these things within two months from now," he advised.
Simha noted that Muslims meet at least once a week on Fridays, while Christians meet on Sundays. He noted that Congress has been blocking Hindus from getting together three or four times during festivals by placing conditions like bond for Ganeshotsava, no permission for use of microphones etc.
The MP said that the central government has been approached with a request to declare areca nut as a food item and that a report of the laboratory about this aspect will soon be presented to the central government. He expressed the confidence that by 2019, areca nut will be declared as a food item.
Nalin Kumar Kateel said that Siddaramaiah-led state government's first achievement was withdrawal of anti cow slaughter act as soon as coming to power, thus paving way for large scale killing of cows. "By his action, he has proved that like Muhammed Ghori and Akbar, he too is conducting administration like Sultans. The MLAs who remain quiet when cattle thieves flash swords and steal cows, then hoodwink people by performing Gau Puja," he criticized.
Earlier in the day the Yatra which began its onward march from Kushalnagar on Saturday reached Sullia assembly constituency. MPs, Pratap Simha and Nalin Kumar Kateel, as well as MLA, S Angara.
