Udupi, Aug 13: The district units of both Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP), and the Bajrang Dal blocked the road for half an hour, on National Highway 17 at the intersection of Kinnimulky, on Wednesday August 13.
They were urging the union government to hand over the possession of land to the Amarnath Shrine Board, permission for which was withdrawn by the Jammu and Kashmir government, causing resentment among Hindus across the country.
Divakar Bhandary, district convener, Bajrang Dal, Raghavendra Acharya, honorary president, VHP, Y N Ramachandra Rao, district president, VHP, Hindu Janajagriti Samiti Shivanand, and Devaraya Prabhu, along with a large number of party activists were present at the protest.
