Udupi, Mar 3: The university town of Manipal was soaked in myriad hues as scores of students celebrated Holi with joy and vigour.
The festival of colours was celebrated at Manipal University which is a melting pot of different cultures from all over India. Like every year, this time too the campus abounded with much enthusiasm and energy as students immersed themselves in fun and frolic.
Students from the region got together and celebrated the joyful festival. They smeared each other with bright colours, played with water guns and greeted each other. The celebration made many of them deepen their strong connections with different cultures. Colors like red, orange, green, blue, yellow, brown and white, all mingled making many practically unrecognizable. Students, including some of foreign origin, drenched in colours were seen singing songs and having fun.
Holi is a religious festival celebrated by Hindus all over the world and is considered as the second biggest festival on Hindu calendar after Diwali. It is a festival that goes beyond barriers of religion, where people of all communities gather and celebrate.
