Bengaluru, Mar 3: In an unfortunate incident that occurred in Bellandur on Thursday, March 1, a 28-year-old, software engineer was tragically killed when he accidentally fell to death from the ninth floor of his apartment building.
The deceased person is identified as Gautham Kumar, a resident of Patna. He was working for an IT company in Kadubeesanahalli. He was a resident of BSR apartment in Bellandur, police said.
As per the information available from the police, Gautham and his friends were having a bash on the night of Thursday on the ninth floor of Sobha Daisy apartment, in which they were residing on rent. Abhishek Jha, Daksh, Aditya and Anayath are the friends of Gautham, who were present with him on that fateful night.
It is said that Gautham received a call from his family member at 11 pm and he went outside the flat to attend the call. Police suspect that Gautham was in an inebriated state and fell to his death as he must have lost his balance.
On hearing a loud thump, the security of the building went to check the source of the sound and found the body of Gautham, lying in a pool of blood. They immediately alerted the police. Gautham's friends were not even aware that he was not with them. Only after 15 minutes or so they notice that Gautham was missing from the party and tried to call him on his mobile phone. As Gautham did not respond to their call on his mobile, they went down the building in search of him and were shocked to find a huge gathering on the ground floor, around their friend, who was lying in a pool of blood.
Police of Bellandur station quickly arrived at the spot and took the body of Gautham to St John's hospital after making a quick spot inspection. Police investigation is on. .
