Udupi, Mar 1: “'Jana Suraksha Yatra' will be organised on March 3 demanding the ban of anti-national organizations like PFI and SDPI, which are aggressively involved in anti-socialist activities. The state government should hand over all old cases to CBI for investigation. It should dismiss some ministers from the cabinet, especially those who are provoking communal violence in the society and supporting anti-social organizations,” said BJP district president Mattaru Ratnakar hedge at BJP office Kadiyali here on Wednesday, February 28.
“The Yatra will be kicked-off by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel from Kushalanagar. Mysuru MP Pratap Simha, MP Ananth Kumar Hegde and MP Shobha Karandlaje will inaugurate the Yatra from Ankola in Uttar Kannada district on March 3. The two Yatras will start from opposite directions, South and North of Karnataka.
“On Tuesday, March 6, two huge rallies will join together in Mangaluru. Later, both the rallies will reach the Central ground, Mangaluru. It will be followed by a huge public meeting, organized by BJP.
“Regarding Udupi district, a padayatra will commence from Byndoor at 9.00 am on March 5. Later, a public addressing programme has been organized at Uppunda. The padayatra will then continue from Sangam Circle at Kundapur and culminate at Shastri Circle at 1.00 pm. Then there will be a public meeting.
“After 3 pm, the padaytra will start from Ambagilu junction, followed by a public meeting at Kinnimulky, Udupi.
“The walk will continue the next day from Katapady at 9.00 am and will head towards Kaup where a public meeting will be held at 12.00 pm.
“The Yatra will then proceeds towards Mangaluru. ‘Jana Suraksha Yatra' will start from Sullia of Dakshina Kannada district and will be in each assembly constituency and reach Mangaluru at 3.00 pm on March 6. Chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath will participate in the valedictory ceremony,” he said.
Former Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat alleged that district in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj is lying about central government withholding the subsidy amount for kerosene. “Only MLA Gopal Poojary came to DC’s office when traditional boat fishermen held protest. No other officials came there. Being district in-charge minister, Pramod Madhwaraj did not take part in the international marathon’s inauguration or closing ceremony which was organised by Manipal and other organisations. As Pramod Madhwaraj is a fisheries minister himself, he should provide kerosene to the traditional boat fishermen for the next three months.
District BJP spokesperson Katapady Shankar Poojary, chief secretary Kuylady Suresh Nayak, undivided Dakshina Kannada Fishing Market Federation president Yashpal Suvarna, Yuva Morcha president Shreesha Naik, state secretary Shyamala Kundar, and Naveen Kutharu were present.
