Mumbai, Mar 1 (TOI): A Maharashtra minister has advised people to eat cheap vegetables rather than cribbing over the soaring prices of onions and potatoes.
"People start crying whenever onion and potato prices increase. But at the same time, they can get other vegetables at minimal price. So, why they are not opting for cheap food available in the market. Are these vegetables atom bomb?" minister of state for agriculture Sada Bhau Khot said while addressing a farmers' meet at Karanja town in Washim district.
Yoga guru Ramdev, president of Commission for Agriculture Pasha Patel, MLAs Rajendra Patani and Raju Patil Raje were also present when Khot made the statement.
Khot said: "Farmers can procure large quantities of produce but they are unable to market it properly. Patanjali has shown them the way."
"Yoga is an invaluable gift given by our saints and we forgot about it. But, now people are practicing yoga across the world thanks to yoga guru Ramdev," Khot said.
