Mangaluru, Mar 1: Sonia Lobo from the city successfully performed a Bharatanatyam recital at the prestigious stage of India Habitat Centre (IHC), New Delhi on recently.
India Habitat Centre (IHC) was conceived to provide a physical environment, which would serve as a catalyst for a synergetic relationship between individuals and institutions working in diverse habitat related areas and would therefore maximize their total effectiveness. IHC, New Delhi is the country’s foremost performing arts and cultural centre.
Sonia is one of the very few artists from Karnataka to perform in this International platform of India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The recital began with the lighting of the lamp by her Guru PrathimaShridhar and Shridhara Holla at 7 pm. The recital began with a invocatory dance, followed by Devi Sthuthi, Varnam, Astapadi and Thillanam.
Professionally, Sonia is a BE graduate in Electronics & Communications and masters in International Business and is currently working at a creative agency called Blitz Creatives in Bengaluru. She was initiated to Bharatanatyam in the age of seven and has completed her Vidwat in the same. As a performing artist, she wishes to take her dance to greater heights by not only performing in India but also abroad.
