Kundapur, Feb 26: "Encouraging talent is the main motto of Amateur Kabaddi association. I am just doing my duty as the chairman of the association. I have organized pro kabaddi at legislative constituency level. The winners of this tournament will compete at inter-district level. Wonderful environment is being built for Kabaddi sport and hidden talents should come out and perform," opined Rakesh Malli, chairman of Karnataka state amateur Kabaddi association.
He was speaking after distibuting the prizes at the 'Pro Kabaddi Tournament Achievers Trophy - 2018', organized under the leadership of Udupi district amateur Kabaddi association and Jab Jab friends Karvikeri.
Malli also said, "We have to involve ourselves completely, when we get opportunity in sport. It is possible to succeed by sheer hardwork and practice."
In this tournament which saw close fighting matches, 'Danger Guys'bagged the first place and took away Rs 10000 cash prize. Second place was won by 'Kingfisher Kundapur' team and they got Rs 6000 prize money. Praveen got 'Best Rider', Niranjan was declared as the 'Best Catcher' and Vinod was adjudged as the 'Best Allrounder' of the tournament and were given prizes for the same.
Vasanti Saranga, president, Kundapur town municipality, Chandra Amin, taluk president, INTUC, Sathish Shetty, state organizing secretary, Jaya karnataka, Kishor Kundapur, Rajesh Sherigar, Rajendra Suvarna, Satish Karvi, Anand Poojary, Hariprasad Shetty, Sandeep Poojary and Jayanand Karvi of Udupi district amateur Kabbadi association were present on the occasion.
Chandrashekhar Karvi, member of Kundapur town municipality welcomed the gathering. Harshavardhan compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
