Mangaluru, Feb 24: President of World Konkani Centre Basti Vaman Shenoy along with chairman of Manipal Global Education T V Mohandas Pai, inaugurated a day long mega event ‘Prerna – A confluence of ideas and motivation’ on February 24, here at TV Raman Pai convention hall.

The event organised by VAA, the alumni association, was formed by the recipients of Vishwa Konkani scholarships instituted by the World Konkani Centre, and is one of the initiatives as envisaged in Vision TVM.

Jyothy Laboratory MD Ullas Kamath said, "This is the fourth year I am taking part in the Prerna programme. This event is like a get-together for us, where young students get motivated by the eminent speakers. To be extraordinary person first you need to be ordinary then only you can become extraordinary. Study as much as you can as long as you can, but never stop. Strive to come first in every field that you step in," he said.

"If you know what’s happening today and are able to predict about tomorrow, then you are already a leader. You should make a habit of reading newspaper to keep yourself updated," he advised the students.

Sharing her experience, president of VAA Alumni Association Nirosha said, "It was a great experience for me to be part of this alumni association. First, I did not know about the camps that were conducted but as days passed, the experience was amazing and I got to learn many things. As president of the alumni association, I want to connect with other alumni and build a strong network. This is the fourth edition of Prerna, and the speakers have inspired us with their ideas and filled us with positive energy."

Prerna was initiated four years ago, and presents six speakers every year, who have not only dared to tread the uncharted path in professional and personal life, but have also carved out a niche for themselves.

Interactive sessions were held by Omnesys Technologies Pvt Ltd MD Shrikanth Pandith, Chartered accountant and Entrepreneur Nandagopal Shenoy, Bharath Forge Limited Group CFO Kishore Saletore, Zerodha Co founder Nikhil Kamath, Avenue Super marts MD and CEO Neville Noronha and Life skills trainer and motivational speaker Dr Chandrika Kamath.
