Mangaluru, Feb 23: The Computer Engineering Association of BIT (CEABIT) organized a talk on ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) at Bearys Institute of Technology, Innoli, on February 21.
Dr K Chandrasekaran, professor, NITK Surathkal was the chief guest and speaker for the function. He started talk by highlighting various aspects of the IoT. He covered a wide range of topics including how to design clothing and architecture for IoT, exploring IoT's potential applications while addressing security threats, and providing insight into the exponential advancement of technology and what we can expect from the future of the internet. He also said that IoT is naturally built in day today activities and nowadays it is possible to build artificially. Continuing, he mentioned different real time applications of IoT and the importance of learning about IoT.
Prof Mustafa Basthikodi, the HOD of CSE, briefed about the association activities and motivated the student fraternity about the need of co-curricular activities for overall development by differentiating schooling from education.
Dr A J Antony, the principal of BIT presided over the function and mentioned in his talk that the department association is a platform to showcase the student talents and also encouraged the students to take part in various co-curricular activities.
Dr Aziz Mustafa, professor of CSE department in his motivational address, conveyed the importance of teamwork. Also defined simple way of understanding about IoT as simple as: it’s about connecting devices over the internet, letting them talk to us, applications, and each other. Third year CSE students, Lubna Mohammed welcomed gathering, Khadeejath Dilnaz concluded the programme with the vote of thanks. Aysha Suha was the master of ceremony.
