Bengaluru, Feb 23: "The government has not yet got any specific clues about the murder of veteran scholar and academician, M M Kalburgi. However, we have accurate information about the killers involved with journalist, Gauri Lankesh's killers. We will make public all information on this aspect within a week," said state home minister, Ramalinga Reddy.
The minister was replying to question raised in the legislative council by BJP MLC, S V Sanakanoor, on Thursday February 22.
The minister said that at present clinching evidences to substantiate the murder charge are being put together. Opposition leader, K S Eshwarappa, who rose to his feet, reminded the minister that he has often claimed that the government has information about Gauri Lankesh murderers and that the same would be revealed soon. He wanted to know when would the minister come out with full details.
The minister reiterated that all information would be provided within a week from now.
BJP legislator, Pradeep Shettar, said that activities of rowdies have risen manifold of late at Hubballi and asked the minister to give the police the freedom to shoot at sight to reign in notorious criminals. The minister said that police officers have been armed with pistols and that they are free to use them.
