Udupi, Feb 22: On the second day of his Udupi tour, BJP national president Amit Shah on Wednesday, February 21 inaugurated a new commercial complex ‘Rama Dhama’ of Palimaru Math near parking area of Sri Krishna temple here.
Palimaru Paryaya Swamiji Vidhyadeesha Theertha greeted him on the occasion. He was accorded a warm welcome by a group of band players and felicitated at the venue.
After that, he took the darshan of Lord Sri Krishna through Navagraha Kindi and received Anugraha Manthrakshate from the Palimaru Swamiji. Later, he spent some time in temple at the prayer. Other BJP leaders were also present at the temple.
Speaking on the occasion, Amit Shah said, “I came here to seek blessings of Swamiji and Lord Krishna. I got an opportunity to interact with different seers on different issues yesterday.”
Sri Vidhyadeesha Theertha wished Shah and said that he must come to the temple with lotus in hand next time to offer it to Lord Sri Krishna. “Let the lotus flower (bloom) in everybody's heart. Let it spread from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. May God bless him and I will pray for that. Construction of Rama Mandir is required and I hope that it will be fulfilled soon with God’s grace.”
“Karnataka is the religious earth of Hanuman,” said Swamiji and recalled the story of Rama and his devotee Shabhari and said, “Shabhari was a devotee of Karnataka. That’s why Sri Ram came to Karnataka. For all these reasons, Udupi is known as a holy land. So there is infinite relationship between Udupi and Gujarat. Sri Krishna came from Dvaraka after listening to Sri Madhwacharya,” he added.
In the morning, for about half an hour, the entry for devotees in the temple was restricted. It was open after pooja.
