Karwar, Feb 21: The issue of the tweet made against Member of Parliament (MP) and central minister Ananth Kumar Hegde by cine actor and activist Prakash Rai has reached the police station now.
Rai had tweeted on January 20 accusing Hegde of calling Dalits, who were protesting against his speech against the constitution of India, as 'dogs'. Subasa Mandoor, who is said to be the former personal secretary of Hegde, has complained on this issue against Prakash Rai at Sirsi police station on January 31.
Rai & Hegde
In his complaint, Subasa has mentioned that "Minister Hegde had spoken good words about all communities at Ballari on January 19. He did not use any derogatory words against the Dalit community. However, actor Rai twisted the statements given by the minister and put an objectionable tweet on his tweeter wall. This tweet was provocative and intended to create a disturbance,”
"Moreover, this tweet has pained me as I also belong to the Dalit community. The tweet made by Rai is a kind of caste abuse and action should be taken against him,” says the complaint.
A copy of this complaint was posted on the tweeter wall of Ananth Kumar Hegde on February 17.
