Mangaluru, Feb 21: After getting definite information, excise department officials conducted raid on the residence of Jose Sebastian, Bajal Road here on Tuesday February 20 and seized liqour spirit.
The officials found 7,000 litres spirit worth Rs 11 lac stored in 200 cans. The officials seized the spirit, Eicher lorry used for transport of the contraband, one Pulsar bike, liquor and crates used to store fish. The officials also arrested Jose Sebastian.
The officials in the operation came to know that the man was transporting the liquor to Kerala state.
Excise inspectors Chetan Kumar, Sathish Kudroli, Sunita, Seema, Shobha, excise sub-inspectors Prathibha, Raja, Jagannatha Nayak, Shivananda, Kamala, excise guards Sai, Umesh, Harish, Arjun Gotagunaki, Jayappa, Lamani, Krishna Achary, drivers Supreet, Sunil, Hariappa, Shivappa, Yogish, Francis were part of the team which held the raid.
The raid was conducted on orders from excise department commissioner Shailaja A Kote in the leadership of Mangaluru sub-division one and sub-division two deputy superintendents Amarnath Bhandary and Shivaprasad.
