Panaji, Aug 8: Goa-based child rights group along with state police has rescued a 17-year-old girl from Mumbai who had ran away from home with her 19-year-old boyfriend.
Manikpur police station at Vasai had registered missing complaint of the girl who had eloped with her boyfriend on August seven.
Goa-based Children's Rights in Goa (CRG) organization along with the police had initiated a search operation to track the duo on Goa-Mumbai highway.
"Both were found traveling in a bus coming towards Panaji," police inspector C L Patil, a part of the investigation team, stated.
The police along with the CRG had searched every bus that was entering Mapusa and Panaji.
"The search started at 5.00 am on August 8, 2008 and the child was found at 9.30 am. on same day," he said.
Police stated that the family members of the girl have arrived in Goa to take her custody
