Bengaluru, Feb 20: Two days after Youth Congress leader Mohammed Nalapad and his friends assaulted a man, another incident of a Congressman allegedly engaging in rowdy behaviour has come to light.
Narayanaswamy, who is a close aide of MLA Byrathi Basavaraju allegedly created ruckus in The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) office at Horamavu.
News agency ANI reported that Narayanaswamy, a close aide of Congress MLA Byrati Basavaraj, after the assistant revenue officer rejected a document submitted by him. He had submitted a fake document and the official refused to issue a fake document on a land deal, sources said.
He was caught on camera splashing petrol in the BBMP office at KR Puram and allegedly threatening to set it on fire. He also allegedly threatened the revenue officer of direct consequences even as the officer pleaded with him.
The incident is said to have taken place on February 16.
Narayanawamy is also the Congress block president of KR Puram.
However, Narayanaswamy claimed that he was in the BBMP office to deliver 'justice' to people after he received complaints regarding the functioning of the revenue office. "I didn’t go there for personal work. I went there to get justice for public. I am not denying what has happened but one should look at the causes that prompted it," he said, as per a report by Times of India.
Sources said that the revenue officer concerned has already been transferred to another BBMP office.
