Panaji, Aug 8: A private FM channel is attempting to get registered in the Limca Book of records for record-breaking 100 hours of Radio Jockeying beginning from Friday August 8 morning.

“In all 13 RJs from across the country at various stations will be participating in this marathon RJying which is being done which is an Olympiad on the air,” BiG 92.7 FM spokesman told the press persons here.

At Goa station, RJ Uday Chari, who hosts breakfast show on Big FM’s, began his unstinted 100 hours of RJying on the radio at 7 am. The show expects to culminate on August 12 at 4 pm, making its entry in the Limca book of Records.

The station spokesman said that entire length of this record-breaking stint will be lively right from the early morning show to late night edition.

“We have always believed in creating exciting formats to entertain our listeners. With Radio Olympiad, we have created a unique event on radio, wherein every Indian can now win and bring alive the spirit of the Olympics, by just tuning into BIG 92.7 FM,” Nirupam Sonu, vice-president, Programming, Big 92.7 FM, said.

He said that the Olympiad is happening in 44 cities and they are sure to have huge participation across the country. 

The spokesman said that the RJs are working towards breaking the previous record of 100 hours created by two Big 92.7 FM RJs from Delhi – Nitin and Priya.

The channel has decided to keep the studios open for public to check authenticity of the record.
