Mangaluru, Feb 16: Father Muller Medical College Hospital, well known for its quality care has added yet another feather to its cap – ‘Pharmacie De Qualite Certification’ for the best practices and excellence in pharmacy operations. Father Muller Medical College Hospital is the first hospital in Karnataka to receive this accreditation and the second hospital to receive this award across the nation.
The accreditation ceremony was held on February 12 at the Council Hall of Father Muller Charitable Institutions and was attended by Murugeshan, zonal sales manager, Corporate Hospital Division, Abbott Healthcare Private Limited and his team. The accreditation certificate was handed over to Fr Richard A Coelho, director, FMMCH, who along with the administrators and pharmacy executives, received the same.
As known to all, Father Muller Charitable Institution is already accredited with NAAC, NABH and NABL and this platinum rating endorses Father Muller Medical College Hospital Pharmacy for its best pharmacy operations with minimum associated risks.
The Pharmacie De Qualite’ certification is based on WHO’s definition of Good Pharmacy Practices as well as the International Federation of Pharmacists, which highlights best practices of pharmacy, optimal services and evidence based care to patients. Abbott Healthcare partnered with Bureau Veritas has developed this certification program to support best patient care for pharmacies in hospitals. The certification process was conducted in two stages - Pre Assessment and Final Audit by Bureau Vertias India Pvt Ltd– a global testing, inspection and certification services provider in order to create ‘Pharmacies as Centre of Excellence’
Fr Richard A Coelho appreciated the certification board for initiating such a world class certification process in India which ensures observing global standards in quality care for Pharmacies. He also expressed his gratitude to Abbot Healthcare Pvt Ltd and Bureau Veritas for initiating, assessing and auditing the pharmacy and taking it to greater heights. The pharmacy team of the institution were also applauded and congratulated for having achieved this outstanding milestone.
