Mangaluru, Feb 14: A complaint has been filed at Suratkal police station, alleging that an attempt to murder Hakeem (31), a Congress worker and resident of Dargah Road in Karnad, Mulky, was made on Tuesday February 13 afternoon.
Hakeem said in his complaint that he had stopped his car near the weigh bridge at Mukka and was standing near it, when a person named Ashraf from Mulky, who he knew, came near him. He stated that Ashraf, who arrived there by motor bike, suddenly turned aggressive, scolded him by using derogatory words and inflicted scratches on his face and hand with a knife. He also said that when he fled from there, Ashraf threatened of murdering him.
"When my brother, Farhan, tried to shield me, Hakeem also attacked Farhan," he claimed. On the basis of this complaint, a case was registered at Suratkal police station.
While Hakeem stands admitted into a private hospital here, Ashraf has got admitted into another hospital. It is said that Ashraf too has filed a counter complaint in this connection.
