Mysuru, Feb 13: In a heart-wrenching incident reported from Belavadi village in the outskirts of the city, a man lost his life, unable to bear the grief caused by the death of his only son. Putte Gowda (68) of Belavadi village breathed his last after his son, Bhaira (33), died on Friday night.
Putte Gowda had three daughters and a son. He had performed the marriages of his daughters and was living with his wife and son. He was also looking for a bride to conduct his son's marriage. But in the meantime, his son was diagnosed with cancer. Although Gowda went to various hospitals in search of a lasting cure for his son, he did not succeed. On Friday night, Bhaira lost his battle for life. On Saturday morning, relatives, friends and villagers had gathered together near Gowda's house for performing the funeral. By the time the body of Bhaira was taken to the graveyard, Putte Gowda became seriously unwell. His relatives took him to hospital.
Before Bhaira's funeral was performed, Putte Gowda lost his life on Saturday. Thereafter, both the funerals were conducted together.
