Tumakuru, Feb 12: District Congress president, R Ramakrishna, was on Sunday February 11, suspended by Congress party from the post after the city crime branch Bengaluru arrested him for his involvement with running a prostitution racket.
The 45th additional chief metropolitan magistrate's (ACMM) court, in the meantime, granted conditional bail to Ramakrishna relating to this case.
Based on reliable information about a brothel being run in a lodge at Doddabidarakal eighth mail near Peenya, city crime branch police had conducted a raid on the spot on Saturday February 10. They had arrested Ramakrishna, Raju Mahantesh, and Shilpa. The city crime branch police had also registered a case in Peenya police station.
Ramakrishna and others were produced in the residence of the judge of ACMM court, Chandrashekhar, on Sunday. The judge who conducted the hearing, remanded Mahantesh, Raju and Shilpa to judicial custody. Ramakrishna, who was named as fourth accused in the case was released against a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and surety.
