Panaji, Aug 5: Governor Dr Shivinder Singh Sidhu visited Safa Masjid at Ponda and Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Betim on Tuesday August 5.
During his visit to the religious houses Dr Sidhu offered prayers and interacted with the Mullah of Safa Masjid and Gyani of the Gurudwara in Betim.
He was received by Mulla Mortuza, president of Safa Masjid along with other committee members Mulla Noor Muhammad, secretary and members Mulla Abdul Samad, Mulla Javed, Mulla Salni and Mulla Mushtaq along with N Tahir, deputy superintendent.
At Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Betim, the Governor was received by Harminder Singh, president of Sri Guru Singh Sabha. Other committee members present on the occasion were Tarminder Singh, Ajaib Singh, vice-president and others.
The Governor was felicitated at the hands of Harminder Singh, president of Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha.
Earlier on August 2, Dr Sidhu visited the Basilica of Bom Jesus, Old Goa and the Shri Mangesh temple at Mangueshi in Ponda taluk. This was the first visit of Dr Sidhu since he took charge of the high office as Governor of Goa.
