Puttur: With no money to return home, lovers get stranded - police help

Puttur, Feb 9: A man and his lover, who came to pay obeisance at Lord Subrahmanya temple, were in dire straits after spending all the money they had. Being clueless, the couple was seen sitting at Nettana railway station on Thursday, February 8.

The young man was from Hassan. He had brought his lover, a college student staying in Nutan Hostel at Hassan, to Subrahmanya temple. The lovers confided that they did not notice that they were left with no money to return when spending on various things during their visit. The locals who found the two desperate lovers made queries and found out that they had come here without informing their respective families. Thereafter, Kadaba police were informed about the situation.

The Kadaba police brought the two to the police station and then called their parents. The parents, who arrived at the police station on Thursday evening, escorted the lovers back home, after executing a bond.

The police said that they have not registered any case about the incident.

    Before coming, before spending money they should have known about money position and spent accordingly. Anyway it was a happy ending. Police helped them by calling their parents.

    I have Travel agency in the centre of mangalore i experience many of this. One day a person came with the receipt book I gave some but while call the number on the receipt no number at all. It is fake number.
    Once man came with stomach pain and sat and told I want money for scanning. Kidney failure. I told I will send you a known scanning centre and pay money to the scanning centre. I called riksha while called the man he ran away.
    Once man came he had no food since 2 days I gave my visiting card wrote in a paper to the nearby bakery to give him bread. It was night no hotels. That man took nearly 1000 rupees things showing the visiting card. Next day I paid money. That time I came to know that I did mistake.
    I learnt lesson. If anybody come I will take them to hotel and tell him to give food and pay to the hotel. Not paying money to their hands. If they use it for alchohol or other luxury we will be responsible.

    Or I will tell which hospital operation. Give address I will send money there. 99% people will not give address. They insult us and will go.

    It is nice of you that you would have purchased the tickets for them. This is a genuine case. But the reality in this world is not as it looks. After being in Mumbai for so long, I have come to the conclusion that one has to be a Doubting Thomas in all matters relating with strangers. This type of show could be to extract money.

    One simple example I give here. Outside one Rly Stn, a dead body was wrapped and a woman was begging money for the funeral. I was in a hurry, but, I felt very bad that I did not help. After an hour, I went there to give some money to her but, neither dead body nor that woman was there. When I asked people around, they said the man inside the shroud was alive and they had just walked away after collecting day's quota.

    I do understand - a man begging in front of the Church with bandages wrapped on his leg, was after an hour or so, passing in front of the shop where I was purchasing vegetables, with a rag picking sack on his neck. You are right, when people are asking for cash, we must be very calculative.

    On the other day a man came with a receipt book seeking donations for building a place of worship. Was all so bent on, me sponsoring 100 bags of cement. I asked how much that will cost, he said Rs. 1,600/- I told him take Rs. 100/- now, I'll come with the cement myself. I could notice 'puli' taste on his face when he left.

    That is why I said, that this couple was not asking for money, all they wanted was to return to their home. A railway ticket which if issued on their name can at the most be sold to somebody for black but that involves some risk they very much aware of since it contained their contact numbers.

    Love is blind. They thought without money they can love. Now understood money is also must even to love.

    They caught in police and parents hands means another tragedy they faced. Anyhow they learnt lesson.

    Our beloved Bajarangdal bhakths also became blind.

    And where are the bhakts now? Why this girl doesnt deserve support ?

    What an irony? When hindu girls are ditched, sexually abused or murdered by the memebers of same community they dont empathise. but if the accused is from a different community they exhibit fake sympathy for political mileage.

    Everyday toddlers are getting raped, young women sexually abused in ashrams. But
    no protest. This shows double standards

    Need to help them at this hour. At young age people do not have sufficent money to spend. As and when tbey grow up realise what mistake they had done. As all the money poured on god for various rituals..only god will show them way to reach there destination. At this man taken her g/f to temple and not pub.
    It shows there intention is good and wants to live together forever. Amen...Ameen...

    They were not begging or stealing, just ran out of money which can happen with any of us. Moreover, they were together in such times of trouble, he did not abandon her leading to falling into wrong hands.

    If I was there, would have purchased a ticket for them to their destination than making all this complications of police, calling their family, etc.

    @Jenifer,mangalore,your intention I appriciate.they had not self went to police,but people around.One side they did good and best.Afterall parents were not aware of their absence.That they shouldnt have done .what when these lovers were met with some accidents or met with problems of other art,(You know some rowdys might attack them like moral police)and parents know nothing.However they love each other,without knowledge of parents go elsewhere without money and strand is not good.Now problem is solved.Giving a ticket doesnt solve problem.We cant see who is genuine and not.best is police is the right people to handle when parents file complaint about thier missing there.Nowadays people tell so many tales misuse of ones feelings.
