Mangaluru, Feb 8: The city crime branch (CCB) police have arrested two prime accused in connection to the recent murder of Shivaraj Karkera.
The arrested are Anish Amin (26) and Vitaraj (23), both residents of Bengre.
Shivaraj was murdered early morning on January 22 by assailants when he was sleeping on the terrace of his brother's house. The assailants were identified as Anish, Vitaraj, Madesh, Sunil and Dheeraj. The police have already arrested Sunil, Dheeraj, Mallesh alias Madesh and they are now in judicial custody.

Anish and Vitaraj, who are the prime accused in the case, had gone absconding soon after the murder.
The police had received definite information that Anish and Vitaraj escaped to Bengaluru soon after committing the murder, and then to Odisha, Assam, Nagaland and other places. The CCB police chased them down to all these places and succeeded in arresting them.
CCB police led by inspector Shantharam, PSI Shyamsunder, Kabbal Raj and others were part of the operation.
