Her husband also died in the road accident
Dubai, Feb 7: A woman from Ballari who was fighting for her life after a ghastly vehicle accident in Dubai, died while being shifted to Bengaluru for treatment by an air ambulance on Monday February 5.
Neetu Jain Kawad (38) and husband Dinesh Kawad (40) had gone on a leisure trip to Dubai, leaving their 11-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter in India with their grandparents. Hailing from Rajasthan, the Kawad family had settled in Ballari, running garment business with their firm Lokseva Dresses.
On January 22 afternoon, they were heading for a desert safari when the minibus in which they were travelling along with other tourists collided with a truck near AI Aweer on Emirates Road.
Dinesh Kawad, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, and the Pakistani driver, 23, were killed on the spot.
An Italian tourist’s wife, who was said to be three-month pregnant, reportedly succumbed to her injuries later, while a Chinese couple and the Italian man survived with minor injuries.
Neetu had suffered critical injuries and fallen into a coma before she was rushed to Rashid Hospital.
The relatives who took Dinesh’s body to India to perform funeral rites, came back to shift Neetu to a Bengaluru hospital for treatment. However, she died on the air ambulance.
