Mangaluru, Feb 3: Mangaluru city central anti-rowdy squad have detained two people selling ganja in front of the GSB Sabha Bhavan at Kodikal and confiscated 250 grams of ganja, one motorbike and two mobile phones, the value of which is estimated to be Rs 1,59,900.
Avinash, a resident of Sunkadakatte in Kodikal and Dileep Kumar, a resident of Amtur under Karingana village limits of Bantwal are the arrested persons. Another accused, Ranjit is absconding. Ranjit is said to be one who had supplied ganja to the arrested people.
This operation was conducted by Ravish Nayak, inspector of Urwa police station and central anti-rowdy squad and personnel of Urwa police station under the guidance of T R Suresh, police commissioner and Uday Nayak, ACP, central anti-rowdy squad.
Three arrested in Maryhill
Kavoor police have arrested Abdul Razak and Salman Farookh, both residents of Palila Majal, Modankap in Bantwal and Prashant, resident of Pacchanady, who were allegedly smoking ganja near Maryhill.
Among the arrested, Salman Farookh is also accused in the gang-rape case of 2015 registered at Kavoor police station.
K R Naik, police inspector and personnel of Kavoor police station took part in the operation.
