Puttur, Feb 3: Kadaba police have registered a case, based on the statement of complainants against Tirthesh Padejjar, a resident of Kodimbala and teacher at government school Nelyadka regarding the fire that engulfed the shop belonging to the members of Stree Shakti Association at Hosmat under Kutrupady village limits.

The tailoring and fancy shop that was run by Suguna Devaiah and Jayashree in the building belonging to panchayat in Hosmut was gutted in a fire two months ago. A complaint was filed after which Tirthesh Padejjar came under a cloud of suspicion.

Tirthesh was working as a teacher at Kutrupady government school before joining the present Nelyadka government school. Suguna Devaiah was one of the office bearers of the school development committee at Kutrupady government school and had filed a complaint against Tirthesh on various counts with the department of education. So there was animosity between them. Suguna in her complaint has said that Tirthesh might have caused the fire in her shop due to the old animosity. Kadaba police have registered a case based on Suguna's suspicion.

Tirthesh, who gave a statement in his defence, said, "Suguna Devaiah is harassing me due to the old animosity between us by giving false complaint against me. I have extended full cooperation to the police investigation. Police had conducted an inquiry on me immediately after the incident of fire in Suguna's shop and were convinced that I am innocent.

"Now due to the pressure of the complainant, police have registered a case against me for no reason. I will file a defamation case against people who have mentally harassed me by making a false allegation. In addition, I have also sought divine intervention by making a vow at Karanika kshetra to give justice in this case,” he said.
