Mangaluru: Miscreants smear black ink on portrait at under-construction Indira Canteen

Mangaluru, Feb 3: In an attack on the uncer-construction Indira Canteen at Suratkal here, unidentified miscreants smeared a portrait of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi with black ink. The incident came to light on Saturday February 3.

The portait of Indira Gandhi was installed as part of the state government's Indira Canteen which is under construction in Suratkal.

The huge portrait has been installed embedded within a glass sheet on the front portion of the canteen structure, on the lines of other Indira Canteens in the state.

It is suspected that miscreants smeared black ink on the portrait on the night of Friday February 2.

As the news spread, the locals expressed anger over the incident.

Suratkal police arrived at the spot and conducted investigations.
