Udupi: Don Bosco English Medium School Shirva celebrates Patron’s Day with devotion

Udupi, Feb 2: Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva celebrated feast of St Don Bosco, the saint of youth and patron of their institution on February 1.

The celebration began with a prayer song ‘All Hail to you Don Bosco’. Ajay D’Souza welcomed the gathering followed by a short prayer service along with the prayer of the faithful was conducted to invoke God’s blessings on the auspicious occasion. Correspondent Fr Stany Tauro, principal Fr Mahesh D’Souza, vice-president Wilson D’Souza and the staff paid floral tribute to the portrait of St Don Bocso as a mark of respect, while the students recited the hymn ‘We Thank you O Lord for Don Bosco’.



Avin Mendonca enlightened the students on the life of Don Bosco highlighting his love and affection towards youth and how he was successful despite all political and administrative hurdles and won the heart of youth and people.

Fr Stany Tauro in his message to students said, “Don Bosco loved the children and youth who were neglected, poor and underprivileged. Don Bosco was always found in their company. He believed in correction through love and not punishment and he showed compassion and love to them.” Fr Tauro further stated that the students of Don Bosco Institution are truly blessed to have Don Bosco as their patron. He then requested all students to always pray and be close to Don Bosco and be a role model to others.

As part of the celebration, the tiny tots from class 2 performed a magical dance and enthralled the audience.
