Mangaluru, Jan 28: Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) leader, John, whose derisive comments on social website about Tulu language and Tuluvas had evoked angry response from people of all sections of the society, has tendered an apology. "I have realized that during my conversation with a person on social website, I had made insulting comments about Tulu language and Tuluvas. I admit that I was wrong. Therefore, I hereby apologize to all the Tuluvas," he said through a post in the social website.
Through the post, John said that in his enthusiasm to deride a person on social website, he had passed ulterior remarks about Tulu and people of Tulunadu. He said he knows he has hurt the people Therefore he added that he is apologizing for this mistake, to the Tulu people and Kannadigas. "I did not do this intentionally. By oversight I committed this mistake. I apologize for the mistake. I will be actively participating in the fight to get classical status to Tulu and Kodava languages in future,"he explained.
Social networking websites were receiving a flood of posts criticizing John, even after president of KRV, T Narayana Gowda, expelled him from the Vedike. Several messages had urged people to register cases in police stations against him. Realizing the seriousness of the issue, John came out with an apology. It appears that the issue will end on a happy note with this apology.
