Udupi: ‘Hogi Ba Magale’ authored by Dr Virupaksha Devaramane released

Udupi, Jan 22: The fourth book ‘Hogi Ba Magale’ authored by renowned psychiatrist Dr Virupaksha Devaramane was released at Nutana Ravindra Mantapa in MGM College, Udupi here on Sunday, January 21.

The book was released by Dr P V Bhandary, director, AV Baliga Group of Institutions. 

Meanwhile, Dr Preethi Shanubagh, director, Manasa Group of Institutions, Dr Girija Rao, Obstetrics and Gynaecologist, Manipal, Dr Neetha Inamdar, director, European Study centre, Manipal and Jameel Sawanna, proprietor of Sawanna publications were present as guests.  

Sharing his opinion about the book, Dr Preethi Shanubagh said, “We find many types of character in women. The rights of women have been changed. Some women do know how to use their freedom and achieve their goal. Another category of women are not aware of their rights. A girl has her own rights.”  

“We do prepare for everything and for marriage, we need to prepare well so that marital life for a woman will be bliss. On the contrary, we see number of problems rising in marital life. Bengaluru has the highest divorce rate and is considered as the capital of divorce. Today, women find it hard to give time for her family due to work commitments.” 

“Further, today’s generation is like ‘sandwich’. There is lot of pressure in their life like taking care of children, work, and relationship with seniors and so on. Now days, the resources are more along with the stress. Women need to find their identity,” said Dr Preethi Shanubagh.

Dr Devaramane said, “This book focuses on the marital relationship and how a girl should lead a happy married life. The encouraging response from the readers has given the writer confidence to write the second book on ‘How to cope with marriage expectations’.”
