Mangaluru: ICYM Cascia unit organises blood donation camp

Mangaluru, Jan 22: Members of ICYM Cascia Unit in association with Fr Muller's Blood Bank, organized blood donation camp ‘Red Drop Cascia - 2K18’ on account of 68th Indian Republic Day on January 21 at St Rita Church Cascia Hall.

President for the programme was Fr Harold Mascarenhas, parish priest, St Rita Church, Cascia, chief guest was Fr Ronald Prakash D’Souza, Ajekar - director, ICYM Central Council, Mangalore Diocese and special guests were Fr Rupesh Madtha, resident priest of Cascia parish as well diocesan YCS director, Mangalore Diocese, ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocesan general secretary, Joel Immanuel Concessao, Milagres, Jossy Theodore, vice president, Parish Pastoral Council, St Rita Church Cascia, Subhash, president, Cascia Old Students Association, Mangaluru, Dr Liza D’Souza from Fr Muller's Hospital. Vishma D’Cunha, president, ICYM Cascia Unit welcomed the gathering and also guests were florally welcomed by the members of ICYM Cascia Unit to the programme. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp to attain Divine Grace. Fr Ronald Prakash D’Souza in his ceremonial speech stressed on the importance of blood donation and other socially relevant causes.



Fr Harold Mascarenhes felicitated Fr Ronald Prakash D’Souza and Subhash with a memento as a token of love and gratitude. Vishma D’Cunha thanked all the guests and to all those who helped in putting up this event successfully and compered the formal programme.

The event was a highly successful one. Over 60 units of blood were collected at the camp and the rest were invited directly to the hospital to donate due to lack of time. The entire event was systematically arranged by the members of ICYM Cascia Unit as well by the staff of Fr Muller's who were able to collect maximum units which would in turn save lives.
