Puttur, Jan 20: Union minister for Commerce & Industry will inaugurate Campco chocolate factory’s new amenity building here on January 21.
D V Sadananda Gowda, union minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation will unveil the bust of founder president Varanashi Subraya Bhat. Nalin Kumar Kateel, member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada will lay the foundation for arecanut, pepper and rubber master godown at Kavu site. Shobha Karandlaje, member of Parliament, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru will release premium chocolate products.
The function will be presided by S R Satishchandra, president, Campco. Dignitaries like Jyotindra Bhai Mehta, national president-Sahakar Bharthi and president-NAFCUB; Shakunthala Shetty T, MLA Puttur, Meenakshi Shanthigodu, president, zilla panchayat, Dakshina Kannada, Bhavani Chidananda, president, taluk panchayat Puttur and Jayanthi Balnadu, president, Town Municipality, Puttur will be present.
Amenity building is added to the factory to meet the present international food safety standards and zoning of food processing area as per FSSAI Standards.
The building is built at a cost of Rs13 crore with a total area of 42,000 sq ft, having three floors and one cellar. Each floor has an area of 10,500 sq ft.
A total number of 800 workers/staff will work in three shifts. The factory is fitted with CC cameras for security and safety. It has been equipped with fire safety equipment. To keep up with green energy, the factory has been built with a system for rain water harvesting, bio fuelled boiler and VAM. It is also having infrastructure like Air Shower, Canteen and Wash Rooms, Changing Rooms, Hand Washing stations etc.
