Kasargod, Jan 19: Police at Badiadka police station arrested two men with two lac demonetized currency notes of Rs 500 each.
The men are Belthangady Mundaje residents, Bashir and Hyder Ali compound Ujire resident Hakeem. Police are on the lookout for Narampadi, Badiadka resident Nizam, another suspect in the case.
Police were inspecting vehicles at Ukkinadka after receiving definite information. The notes were found in a Tata Indica car intercepted and searched by the police.
Basheer had sold a car to Narampadi resident Nizam who had paid Rs four lac as part payment. He had to give the remaining amount on January 18. As the payment was getting delayed, he handed over demonetized five hundred rupee notes. This confession was made by the arrested Bashir on questioning. Police said that the statement
seems suspicious.
Police said that they have conducted raids and searched the house of Bashir but have not found any more notes or documents. They said that the suspects will be further questioned to know the truth behind the case.
