Chitradurga, Jan 10(DHNS): The BJP mounted its attack on the ruling Congress using the Hindutva plank with party chief Amit Shah coming down heavily on the Siddaramaiah government for being 'anti-Hindu'.
Shah was speaking at his first election speech outside Bengaluru at the BJP's Nava Karnataka Nirmana Parivartana Yatra rally at Holalkere, Chitradurga district (nearly 200 km from Bengaluru) on Wednesday.
"The countdown for the exit of this government has begun," Shah said.
As many as 23 RSS and BJP workers have been killed in the past three years, but the Congress government has failed to even launch an investigation, Shah said.
The freedom of the culprits is short-lived as they will be behind bars once the BJP comes to power, Shah added.
The BJP chief said life had become a struggle for Hindus under the Congress regime.
"To erect a pandal during the Ganesha festival, one has to furnish a Rs 10 lakh bond. The police are not allowed to sport vermilion on their foreheads. Salary of temple priests have not been paid for the last four months. This government that indulges in vote bank politics should be rooted out," Shah charged.
At this point, Shah threw a question at the crowd: "Should this government continue?"
The crowd shouted back a "No" in chorus.
Shah also dubbed the Siddaramaiah-led Congress rule as 'the most corrupt government.'
