Mangaluru, Jan 10: Police team under the leadership of Valentine D'Souza, assistant commissioner of police, on Wednesday, January 10 conducted a search operation for the weapons and mobile phones used in the killing of Basheer, a resident of Aakashbhavan, who was murdered at Kottara Chowki in retaliation to the murder of Deepak Rao.

The asailants had allegedly thrown the weapons in Netravati river after the heinous act.

The expert divers hired by the police searched the river. The accused were also taken to the spot.

Sandesh, Dhanush, Shreejith and Kishan were arrested in this case. They mercilessly attacked with the intention of killing Basheer near Kottara Chowki when he was closing the fast food shop and getting ready to return home. Basheer succumbed to the grievous injuries four days later.

It is learnt that the accused threw the weapons used in the murder and also the mobile phones that were used to communicate while carrying out the crime in their bid to escape.

As the police got this information from the accused during the inquiry, they are continuing their search for the weapons and mobiles with the help of specialist divers of Tannirbavi. Seeing the team and vehicles of police, rumours made round by the public that a suicide has taken place near Netravati bridge for some time.

RSS never teach anyone to kill innocent people by the name of religion. I would be happy to see Deepak Rao and Basheer's murderer get capital punishment.

Irrespective of any reason no one has a right to end someone's life.

The cops can take coast guard help. They are very well trained and have sonar detectors which can come handy in this case.
We need an end to this blood bathing in the name of Deepak and Basheer. Let's peace prevail once again to those glorious days of Mangalore.

weapons in the river may not contain finger prints or body fluids may think some. but....
It is possible for latent finger or palm prints to survive water submersion or exposure in instances where a non-water soluble contaminant was present on the fingers or palms, or already present on the surface touched by the hands. Examples of such contaminants are sebaceous gland secretions, cooking oil, motor oil, butter, and peanut butter. In some circumstances, fingerprints deposited in water soluble contaminants and allowed to dry before submersion may survive.

Election is near..they go any extent under beneath into the sea to find out the weapons. Only one last major stronghold is with congress. Are trying to preserve it by any means. No income from anywhere else. It's called appeasement policy of congress from the beginning. Muslim womens stand entirely with BJP due to taken matter of triple talaq reason behind victory in U.P.

Hope police will put strong FIR against him... in earlier cases of harish poojary murder the killer bhuvith shetty came out in bail within 100 days ... Hope the police will make sure these criminals will be hanged to death ...
If we talke the crime history of mangalore all these are repeated offenders.. These goons will come out in bail and comitt another crime. All because of our legal system. Killer of harish poojari( Bhuvith shetty - again out ) , deepak rao killers, basheer killers are real examples for this.. Hope police will make sure these goons will be hanged for better mangalore.

Why the police needs murder weapons when they have the CCTV footage of the accused killing Basheer? How can you retrieve the murder weapons from Netravati river? Its impossible. Is the ploy to weaken the case by citing that no murder weapons were recovered. Remember Pehlu Khan killers have been declared not guilty due to lack of evidence.
