Udupi, Jan 9: The district and sessions court, on Monday January 8, adjourned the process of fixing dates of hearing pertaining to the murder of NRI entrepreneur, Bhaskar Shetty, when the case came up on Monday January 8. The date has now been fixed for January 25.
Advocate for the accused, Arun Bangera, said that he had sought adjournment of hearing in the case as the criminal investigation department police are yet to file additional charge sheet in the case. He said that the CID officers also sought adjournment. "The judge upheld our pleas and fixed a fresh date of hearing as January 25," he revealed.
Srinivas Bhat and Raghavendra, who have been accused of destroying evidence in the case and who are out on bail, were personally present at the court on Monday. The presence of the main accused, Rajeshwari Shetty, Navneet Shetty and Niranjan Bhat, who are currently lodged at Parappana Agrahara prison in Bengaluru, was confirmed by the judge through video conferencing facility. Public prosecutor, Shanta Bai, was present.
