Mangaluru Jan 8: “Deepak Rao's murder at Katipalla looks like a supari killing from its outlook so far,” said district Congress president Harish Kumar during a press meet here on Monday, January 8.
Addressing media here, he said, “Murder is not the answer for a murder but we should live in love and peace. Court will look after to punish the offenders and we strongly condemn the two murders. Deepak’s murder does not look like a communally motivated murder but a supari killing based upon the source of involvement of BJP corporator.
“Deepak’s parents claimed that he did not belong to any religion, but still Deepak is being projected as a Hindu activist. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid visit to both Deepak and Basheer's residence and paid condolence to their family and also announced compensation along with assurance of government jobs.
“Some provocative statements have led to the death of innocents as they are being brainwashed. Whenever a murder takes place, it is given religious colour. BJP were silent in the murders of Harish Poojary, Karthik Raj and Vinayak Baliga and they take political mileage in some murder cases.
“I appreciate the way Basheer’s brother Hakim spread message of living in peace and harmony after the death of his brother Basheer,” said Harish Kumar.
