Mangaluru, Jan 7: Chief minister Siddarmaiah on Sunday January 7 paid visits to the residences of Deepak Rao and Basheer, both of whom were murdered by miscreants on January 3.
The CM was in the city to inaugurate musical fountain and toy train at Kadri Park here. But prior to that, he chose to visit the two bereaved families and expressed his condolences.
Siddaramaiah, on his way to the city from Moodbidri, first visited Deepak's residence in Katipalla, Suratkal. He was accompanied by MLA Mangaluru North Mohiuddin Bava.
He directed the deputy commissioner to provide Deepak's younger brother Satish a job in MRPL.
At Basheer's residence, the CM announced a compensation of Rs 10 lac. Basheer's son appealed to the CM to take strict action against his father's killers.
The CM spoke to both the grief-stricken families and directed the police to take stringent action against the culprits in both the cases.
Deepak was murdered at Katipalla on January 3. The police arrested four persons hours after the incident. The same night, Basheer was attacked at Kottara Chowki in retaliation. Basheer passed away on Sunday January 7.
Ministers U T Khader and Ramanath Rai, and mayor Kavita Sanil also accompanied the CM.
