Walter Nandalike said, "Nowadays our district is passing through a very crucial time. We keep hearing news of peace disrupting incidents almost every day. So today’s marathon gains significance because it conveys message of peace and harmony. Because of the action of one percent of the population, the rest 99% is suffering. Now is the time to come together and fight against communal forces. This marathon will help unite people, especially the youth and hence solidarity in the local area."
Over a thousand parishioners and locals of Ullal participated in the marathon. The first, second and third place holders in men and women categories were awarded attractive prizes.
