Mangaluru, Jan 5: Personnel of anti rowdy squad of south police subdivision in the city have succeeded in arresting a person who was found to be selling ganja.
The arrested person happens to be Abdul Rahim alias Kandi Rahim (45). 1.170 kg ganja, scooter used for its transportation, two cellphones and Rs 500 in cash found in his possession were confiscated. The total value of things so seized has been estimated at Rs 50,000.
The assistant police commissioner of anti rowdy squad got information that a person who was standing near the gate of a hospital at Kankanady with a black Activa scooter, was selling ganja to the people. The team raided the spot and arrested the accused. During the questioning of the accused, the police came to know that he has already been booked by various police stations in the city for ganja sale under different provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. He faces seven cases in the city (north) station, one in Panambur and two in Barke station.
A case has now been registered at city (south) police station.
