Puttur, Jan 4: "The state government under Siddaramaiah's leadership has been providing very good administration with people-friendly schemes. At the same time, BJP is whiling away time in levelling false allegations and playing politics all the time. Now BJP is accusing sub-inspector (SI) of rural police station here, Abdul Khader, of indulging in injustice against Hindus with an eye of reaping political benefit," said MLA, Shakuntala Shetty.
She was speaking at the consultative meeting held with Congress workers on Tuesday January 2 towards making proposed visit of the chief minister to the town on January 7 a resounding success. The programme was held at the community hall of Kalpane in Sarve village in the taluk.
"It would have been reasonable if people from the town or people living within the jurisdiction of this police station here had complained or held protest. But people from Sullia, Bantwal and Pumpwell come here and complain against the sub-inspector functioning here. How can we accept their claim?" she questioned.
Local block Congress president, Muhammed Badagannur and Renjalady mosque president, K R Hussain Darimi Renjalady, addressed the participants, and urged them to extend support to make the coming visit by the chief minister a success.
Kundur gram panchayat member, Shivanath Rai Meginaguthu, welcomed the gathering. Shashidhar S D rendered vote of thanks.
