Bengaluru, Jan 4: Amid the protests over the murder of Deepak Rao at Katipalla near here, BJP MP Pratap Simha on Thursday January 4 led a protest in Bengaluru demanding NIA probe into the case and also several other similar cases.
"Murder number 21: How many more do u want @CMofKarnataka @INCKarnataka Ramanath Rai n Ramalinga Reddy gaaru?," Pratap Simha tweeted, questioning chief minister Siddaramaiah, the state Congress government, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai and home minister Ramalinga Reddy.
BJP MPs protested in front of the Gandhi statue outside the parliament in New Delhi holding placards condemining the murder of Deepak Rao. They intend to raise this issue in the parliament during the 'zero hour'.
Speaking to journalists, R Ashok, former chief minister, said, "Deepak Rao belonged to pro-Hindu organization. Popular Front of India (PFI) is behind this murder. Congress government is directly responsible for the death of Hindus."
"When we were in power, were there murders of Congress party activists? Government instigates PFI. Chief minister has to resign owning the moral responsibility for Deepak Rao's murder," he added.
The BJP MPs also met union home minister Rajnath Singh and urged NIA probe into the murders of right-wing activists in the state.
"We met Union Home Minister @rajnathsingh ji n demanded NIA inquiry regarding the series of political murders that are taking place in Karnataka, including Deepak Rao," Simha tweeted.
Earlier in the day, Karnataka home minister Ramalinga Reddy dismissed the demand.
