Hubballi, Jan 2: A traffic policeman here thrashed a young man who rode in the wrong direction of the road.
The rider and pillion rider both were not wearing helmet. They were drunk too and the bike was on the one way road moving in the opposite direction, as per details available.
The incident happened at Chennamma Circle here on Tuesday, January 2. Bike rider Saikumar and pillion rider Ambareesh, under the influence of alcohol, were moving on the bike in the wrong direction without wearing helmet. ASI D S Bevooru of North Traffic Police Station, who spotted the youngsters, asked them stop. But the rider went ahead without stopping.
The police, who chased them, caught hold of the offenders and tried to take them in an auto rickshaw. There were arguments between them. The young men started acting inappropriately with the police. At that time, the policeman thrashed one of the youth.
The photos of the incident which went viral subsequently attracted praise and criticism both from public.
