Mangaluru, Jan 2: As per reliable sources, B Nagendra, independent MLA from Kudligi constituency in Bellary district is likely to join Congress soon.

B Nagendra is representing Kudligi constituency for the second consecutive term. Though in the first term, he won as a BJP candidate, the second witnessed him win the election as an independent candidate. He beat Venkatesh from Congress both times.

There were rumours in the recent past the Nagendra will join BJP.

As per reports, Nagendra is likely to join Congress during the state-level ST convention on January 29 in Hosapete. Earlier it was said that he would join BJP on January 4 during Parivarthana rally. Now it is claimed that he has decided to skip that rally.
Sources said Nagendra has been already in touch with Congress national president Rahul Gandhi.

Nagendra’s decision to join Congress is going to affect the political situation in Bellary district which is largely controlled by Gali Janardhana Reddy and Sriramulu.

Speaking to a TV channel, Sriramulu said that he is not aware of Nagendra joining Congress. He said he would talk to Nagendra and convince him to join BJP.
