New Delhi/Bengaluru, Dec 13: Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday December 12 met Congress president-elect Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi and wished him a successful tenure as the party's head.
Sharing pictures of his meeting with Rahul Gandhi, Siddarmaiah tweeted, "Happy to meet and congratulate @INCIndia President Elect Shri Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi today.
"I wish him a successful tenure, and look forward to working closely towards our shared vision of a progressive India."
Rahul Gandhi was welcomed by party leaders and workers amidst much fanfare and gusto at his residence at 12 Tughlak Lane, a day after he was elected party chief.
Siddaramaiah, Delhi Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Maken and party workers and leaders from Delhi and Karnataka were present as he returned, bringing to an end a three-month election campaign in Gujarat.
The 47-year-old Rahul will formally take over the reins of the party on December 16, two days before the counting of votes for Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections, the outcome of which could be a trendsetter ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
