CM Siddaramaiah meets Rahul Gandhi in Delhi, wishes him success

New Delhi/Bengaluru, Dec 13: Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday December 12 met Congress president-elect Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi and wished him a successful tenure as the party's head.

Sharing pictures of his meeting with Rahul Gandhi, Siddarmaiah tweeted, "Happy to meet and congratulate @INCIndia President Elect Shri Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi today.

"I wish him a successful tenure, and look forward to working closely towards our shared vision of a progressive India."


Rahul Gandhi was welcomed by party leaders and workers amidst much fanfare and gusto at his residence at 12 Tughlak Lane, a day after he was elected party chief.

Siddaramaiah, Delhi Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Maken and party workers and leaders from Delhi and Karnataka were present as he returned, bringing to an end a three-month election campaign in Gujarat.

The 47-year-old Rahul will formally take over the reins of the party on December 16, two days before the counting of votes for Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections, the outcome of which could be a trendsetter ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

    Rahul will become a fine leader for three reasons, I may be a BJP supporter, however i am not a blind bhakta of these communal /divisive laggards of my party sadly!!!

    Does not have a streak of communalistic attitude !!
    Has not shown any evidence of corrupt practices, politically or otherwise!!
    He has a tendency of showing universal empathy

    I am sure he will lead the nation in a much better way

    Long way to go for RG. Infact Siddu should be a better candidate to navigate the sinking ship of Congress. To meet the caliber of any of the BJP leaders, is totally away from reality. The moment religious based vote bank politics is stopped by congress they will surely win any election.

    What kind of CM are you? Whole Uthara Kannada district is burning with communal violence, situation is tensed and out of control, home minister is clueless, you should be there in Kumta, Honavara, Karwar, Sirsi, to take stock of the situation, meeting the innocent victims and family of late Paresh Mesta, giving your support and compensation to the family, ordering District authorities and police to arrest radicals elements and trouble makers under Goonda act with no parole.

    In-stood you are wasting valuable time in New Delhi in congratulating Rahul Gandhi, who was not even elected, but selected as party president.

    Get your act together, fly back and attend law and order situation in Karnataka, people have chosen and elected you to concentrate on Karnataka state and well being of Kannadigas, not for wasting your valuable time in New Delhi.
