Hassan, Dec 5: Collision of two buses in Hassan at around 3 am on Tuesday, December 5 has claimed lives of two women.
The KSRTC bus (KA 19 F 2980) was driven by Dinaker and was plying from Udupi to Bengaluru. When the bus reached Yedhaguru cross near Hassan, a Durgamba bus (KA 51 D 7177) plying from Bengaluru to Mangaluru collided with it.
Two women Fathima Sameera (28) from Chengala near Kasargod travelling in the KSRTC bus and Yashodha (44) travelling in the Durgamba bus, died on the spot.
Over 10 people who were commuting in both the buses have sustained injuries and were rushed to Mangala hospital for treatment.
The injured persons include deceased Fathima’s father Abdul Salam (57) from Chengala, Vidya (50) from Kadri Mangaluru, Ravikumar (33 from Kabaka Puttur, Sathish Kamath (60) from Kadri Mangaluru, Naveen Prakash (35) from Bommabetta , Shanan (21) from Attavar Mangaluru and Narayana (40) from Malleshwaram.
A case has been registered in Alur police station.
