Mangaluru, Dec 3: The spirit of Christmas was in the air as large crowds gathered at Nehru Maidan and St Agnes Special School grounds here on Sunday December 3 to witness two separate shows of a magnificent '2017-Year-Old Fact in a Mobile Act' by White Doves NGO.
'Yella Ninagaagi', a play by Bannu Fernandes on the life of St Agnes was presented at both the venues. The play was directed by White Doves founder-president Corrine Rasquinha.
Addressing the gathering during the formal stage programme, founder of Daijiworld Walter Nandalike said, "Credit goes to White Doves founder-president Corrine Rasquinha for heralding Christmas season so early to Mangaluru in a unique, creative and special way. White Doves has been conducting this mobile act in various places from the past 23 years and spreading the message of peace in a special way".
The 23rd mobile act was organised at Lorretto church ground, Bantwal on December 1 and Shirva church, Udupi on December 2. The series concluded with shows at Nehru Maidan and St Agnes Special School ground on December 3.
A total of 150 artists put up brilliant performances, bringing alive the life and times of Jesus Christ on a long stage measuring 120 ft. Through music, dance and acting aptly tailored for the occasion, the mobile act spread the message of peace and joy which is the real message of Christmas. The stage settings were brilliant and perfectly complemented other elements of the mobile act. A joyous moment was when Santa Claus entered and distributed sweets and goodies, much to the delight of children in the audience.
