Mangaluru, Dec 3: Chikkaballapur MP and former CM Veerappa Moily on Sunday, December 3 slammed the Modi-led Union government and said that it had failed in foreign diplomacy.
Addressing a press meet here, Moily said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is only busy with frequent foreign tours. He cannot stop cross-border terrorism from Pakistan. China is exporting its goods to India, but they do not import from India. The visa issue in the United States for Indians is still not resolved. Despite all, Modi is projecting himself as a troubleshooter of issues in foreign countries.
"The NDA government has failed in all departments. Modi and his team only deliver speeches but nothing in action. The BJP government led states are in plutocratic condition. In the matter of development, the BJP-led state governments are far behind Congress-led state governments. If we compare Gujarat and Karnataka, our state is doing a very good job. Our gross domestic production is 10,27,06,783 lac and in Gujarat it is only 9,94,31,599 lac," he said.
Attacking the BJP he said, "BJP started a road show called 'Parivarthan Yatra'. BJP leaders themselves do not know where the Yatra has reached. They have divided themselves into different groups. In many places people tried to stop them."
Praising the state government, he said, "In terms of development, BJP cannot beat Congress. Chief minister Siddaramaiah-led government has set a record in development programmes. There are projects being planned for everyone. Mangaluru too has been developed. In UPA’s tenure, we brought many projects and industries to this district. But now, the Union government is doing nothing for this district. Many projects started by UPA have been stalled halfway."
Revealing details on Congress’ manifesto for the upcoming state elections, he said, "I am the chairman of the manifesto committee. I will meet party leaders, members, stakeholders and various organizations in the state which are divided into six zones. Within January 2018, I will submit the report of manifesto to CM Siddaramaiah."
District in-charge minister Ramanath Rai, chief whip Ivan D’Souza, MLC K C Kondayya, leaders Sudarshan, Pushpa Amaranath, Naveen D’Souza, and Shashidhar were present.
